Existing and news apps

Hi! I have a question about the following Judges' Criteria (found in the rules):

"Is the submission an idea that hasn’t been done before or have you improved on an existing idea?".

Could we adapt an existing application to use Modzy and participate in the hackathon? Or is it better valued if we participate with a totally new application?

    Hi Javier!

    Good question. You can use a pre-existing idea or project and adapt it to work with Modzy: (iv) New & Existing: Projects must be either newly created by the Entrant or, if the Project existed prior to the Hackathon Submission Period, must have made substantial improvements to include the featured tools after the start of the Hackathon Submission Period.

    As to judging and what is "better," the level of technical implementation is most important. If it's existing but had to be completely reworked or rebuilt, it would be "better" than if it was an existing app that made a small change to work with Modzy. If you want to use an existing project, I encourage you to make significant changes and explain them on the submisson form. You can also submit two projects if you want :)
